I enjoyed H is for Hawk from start to finish. Excellently written, poignant and fascinating.
The story begins in a family tragedy and ends in redemption in the form of a Hawk. The tale follows the humorous and poignant story of Macdonald’s childhood ambition to own and train a goshawk. Therefore, it offers a great history of falconry, a personal story and one that takes a look at the natural world of England and what we seem to have done in abandoning it for life in cities. It is, above all, a cracking great read and I would recommend it to anyone who has even a passing interest in nature.
