Book Review: The Tattooist of Auschwitz - A Compelling Tale of Love and Survival

Updated: Apr 3

It was a quick read (day and a half) and well written in the sense that you can pass easily through the narrative. However, I felt that the characters were perhaps too quickly drawn and the parts after the Auschwitz events were rushed over when there was opportunity for more embellishment. At that point, the novel began to read like a guide and lost its narrative thrust. The meeting of the couple was similarly run over in half a page, which I thought was disappointing.
